If an operative misses a confirmation window, anyone they\u2019re holding becomes disposable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou built that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI helped automate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Noah stepped away from him.<\/p>\n<p>Mark saw it.<\/p>\n<p>He looked like he had been struck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He opened another screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI need to confirm that Daniel\u2019s archive has been compromised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re going to tell them we opened it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen they come here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re already coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Outside, somewhere far above us, a muffled explosion sounded.<\/p>\n<p>The building shook.<\/p>\n<p>Mark typed.<\/p>\n<p>A prompt appeared.<\/p>\n<p>UPLOAD ARCHIVE ACCESS TOKEN?<\/p>\n<p>YES \/ NO.<\/p>\n<p>I grabbed his wrist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happens if you press yes?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey get proof the archive opened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo they get access?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re sure?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow sure?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His expression hardened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnough to bet Emily\u2019s life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at the countdown.<\/p>\n<p>00:08:19.<\/p>\n<p>Then at Noah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mark pressed YES.<\/p>\n<p>The screen flashed.<\/p>\n<p>TRANSMITTING.<\/p>\n<p>The countdown stopped at 00:07:54.<\/p>\n<p>Then disappeared.<\/p>\n<p>Emily\u2019s map remained.<\/p>\n<p>STATUS: HOLD.<\/p>\n<p>I exhaled.<\/p>\n<p>Mark did too.<\/p>\n<p>Then the terminal changed again.<\/p>\n<p>REMOTE ACCESS REQUEST.<\/p>\n<p>A name appeared.<\/p>\n<p>REBECCA LANE.<\/p>\n<p>Foster had said she was Daniel\u2019s former supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>Emily had warned Daniel suspected someone inside Rebecca\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Mark stared at the screen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe shouldn\u2019t know we\u2019re here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCould Daniel\u2019s system have notified her?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause Rebecca designed part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I stared at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou left that out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know you knew her name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The request flashed again.<\/p>\n<p>ACCEPT REMOTE ACCESS?<\/p>\n<p>A microphone icon appeared.<\/p>\n<p>Then the terminal speakers activated.<\/p>\n<p>A woman\u2019s voice filled the room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSarah, if you can hear me, do not let Mark touch that terminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mark went still.<\/p>\n<p>The woman continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy name is Rebecca Lane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at him.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca said, \u201cMark is the reason Daniel Reynolds died.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/feeleverystory.online\/?p=588\">Click here to continue reading: PART 7: Rebecca Accused Mark of Daniel\u2019s Murder, but the Archive Preserved a Recording That Forced Everyone to Confront a Different Betrayal<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The navigation screen showed twenty-eight minutes to Mark\u2019s coordinates.
