outcome.<\/p>\n<p>But proof someone had recorded the delay as part of the same network.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel saw my face.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll investigate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I delayed cancer care for twelve thousand dollars.<\/p>\n<p>I sat down.<\/p>\n<p>Ray stood beside me.<\/p>\n<p>No one spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Then one of the federal investigators turned another Briggs.<\/p>\n<p>Even after Dennis died.<\/p>\n<p>They kept watching.<\/p>\n<p>Not because of Dennis anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Because the ledger was still missing.<\/p>\n<p>Because they believed he had given it to one of us.<\/p>\n<p>Then another line:<\/p>\n<p>RVH\u2014CONFIRM NO COPY WITH WIDOW.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Hale.<\/p>\n<p>My pulse quickened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe searched me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daniel
