him?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mom started crying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne folder.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dad stood so abruptly his chair fell backward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHelen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I barely heard him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat was in the folder?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClosing statement. Old mortgage papers.
