Call me first.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Evelyn.<\/p>\n<p>Richard had named that exact document.<\/p>\n<p>Now Daniel was warning me away from it.<\/p>\n<p>I called him.<\/p>\n<p>He answered.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhere are you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy shouldn\u2019t I access Annex 14-C?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Silence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChloe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnswer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the file is being monitored.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy whom?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen how do you know it\u2019s monitored?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe accessed a related archive last night. Someone responded within minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>My pulse quickened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of response?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of our investigative servers was wiped.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Evelyn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWas anything lost?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCopies.
